Macc manager considering January moves

Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander is ready to do business in the January transfer window. Alexander is keen to give the Silkmen more breathing space above the relegation places and they currently hold a nine-point advantage over Grimsby. The Macc boss will only allow members of his squad to depart for the right price and would expect to be given the opportunity to reinvest any funds generated. He told the Macclesfield Express: "I'd like to bring in one or two other players during January, and some may be leaving. "If anyone comes in for one of our players then it would be nice to have more funds available to bring people in, but it would have to be the right offer, otherwise we won't be interested." Alexander is still to see short-term signing Craig Lindfield in action, with the club's New Year fixtures all falling victim to the freezing temperatures. Striker Lindfield moved to Moss Rose in late December after leaving Accrington at the end of last season but could soon find himself searching for a new club again. Alexander added: "It's a shame for the lad because he could find his spell coming to an end and he's not been able to show what he can do."
