Graeme Lee believes the loss of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will be a big blow to Notts County's defence next season.
The League Two title winners based their campaign on a sturdy back-line, with Schmeichel, who made the shock move from Manchester City last summer, playing a crucial role in their success.
However, with the 23-year-old now a free agent following his early release, the club face a big challenge to find an adequate replacement between the sticks.
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City centre-half Lee concedes that any players leaving this summer will be sorely missed.
Big blow
"Obviously, it will be a big blow because Kasper is a quality keeper," Lee told
skysports.com.
"He has dropped down a few leagues and you can tell that he should be playing at a much higher level.
"He has been absolutely superb this season and when you've got a keeper behind you that you have full confidence in then it helps you with your own game.
"So, he will be a big miss for us, as will Luke Rodgers, who almost sealed a move to USA last month.
"He has got another year on his contract here, but he obviously has an ambition to go and play in America and he would be a big miss too if he was to leave.
"He gives us something different up front and he always causes problems for the opposition.
"Both are big influences in the dressing room as well, so they will both be big losses if they go."
