Aldershot captain Anthony Charles has pledged his future to the club by signing a new one-year contract.
The 29-year-old is in his second spell with the club and has made close to 200 appearances for the League Two outfit.
During the past season Charles played 38 times as the Shots reached the play-off semi-finals, where they were beaten by Rotherham.
Assistant boss Gary Owers told the club's official website: "It is especially pleasing that Anthony has signed for another year. He was an important member of the squad during last season and it is important to secure another member bringing the continuity too.
"He played part of last season out of position too at left-back, but wherever he played he always did a good job and possessed a good attitude."
On other contract offers and possible new additions, Owers added: "It is a quiet period at the moment across the country with little happening on the player front.
"We are still trying to finalise a number of contracts and hope to be able to do this within the next seven to 10 days."
