Transfer-listed midfielder expected to stay

Torquay boss Paul Buckle is confident Nicky Wroe will see out the January transfer window at Plainmoor. The midfielder was placed on the transfer list by the Gulls back in October, but he has remained part of the first-team fold. A number of impressive showings over the festive period have helped to keep him in Buckle's thoughts, with it becoming virtually impossible to leave him out. The Torquay boss is now hoping that past arrangements can be put to one side and Wroe can continue to produce the goods for the remainder of the season.

Talks

He is aware that an offer could be lodged which forces the Gulls' hand, but he is confident the 25-year-old will be staying put. "To be honest, I had forgotten about the Nicky Wroe one," Buckle told the club's official website. "He is doing well in the team and I spoke to him a few weeks ago, and he is more than happy to stay. "Unless we get something that really suits, I can't see Nicky going anywhere."
