Midfielder happy to have resolved his future at the Kassam Stadium

Oxford United midfielder Paul McLaren has agreed a new contract to stay with the League Two club next season. McLaren joined Oxford at the end of December on a deal through to the end of the current campaign following his release by Tranmere Rovers. He has made 18 appearances for the Us and the 34-year-old is happy to have finalised terms to stay at the Kassam Stadium. "It's great to get this sorted out so early and I'm already looking forward to next season," McLaren told the club's official website. "Oxford is a big club and should be playing at least one league higher, and hopefully I can help achieve that for the team." Manager Chris Wilder added: "I'm very pleased that Paul has agreed to remain here with the club. His presence has helped to steady the ship and has allowed the players around him to develop and mature. "For Macca to sign up now gives us something to build on for next season, which is sure to be an exciting one."
