Seagulls midfielder given an opportunity to extend his career

Brighton midfielder Alan Navarro has signed a new one-year deal with the Championship club. The 30-year-old was a mainstay of the team when Gus Poyet first took charge of the Seagulls However, injury ruled him out for most of last season but he has now recovered his fitness and is ready to battle for his place. "He is someone who suits us and the way we play," Poyet told the club's official website. "He knows our style and our identity, so it's good to have been able to resolve this situation. It's up to him now to secure his place back in the team." Navarro, who started his career at Liverpool, has made 46 appearances for the Seagulls since signing for the club in 2009 from MK Dons.
