MK Dons have signed Burnley defender Kevin Long on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who made 13 appearances and scored two goals on loan at Sky Bet League 1 side Barnsley earlier this season, arrives to bolster a defence which has lost Kyle McFadzean to a three-match suspension and is still without the injured pair of Joe Walsh and Matt Upson.
"We saw him play for Barnsley this season and he was exceptional in the games that we watched," manager Karl Robinson told mkdons.com.
"Kevin ticks a number of boxes for us - he's a wonderful size and he's good on the ball.
"He could have gone to three other sides where he would have been guaranteed a start but he said he wants to come here and fight for a place.
"He'll strengthen the defence. Kyle is suspended for three games and is one booking away from another three-match ban, while Joe Walsh and Matty Upson are coming back from injury.
"It's a position we didn't want to leave ourselves short in going into these final games."
Long's loan deal does include a 24-hour recall clause after 28 days.
