Defender accepts three-and-a-half year deal at London Road

Fulham defender Gabriel Zakuani has agreed to join Peterborough United on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee. Zakuani has been on loan at London Road since mid-September and has yet to be on the losing side in 12 appearances. His loan spell expires on 14th December, but he has accepted a three-and-a-half year contract to return to the League One club on 1st January. Posh boss Darren Ferguson had been optimistic of concluding a deal and is delighted to have persuaded Zakuani to stay at the club. "Gabby has been excellent since he came here on loan and has been a big part of our unbeaten run," Ferguson told the club's official website. "He is an out-and-out defender and has formed a good partnership with Craig Morgan." The 22-year-old joined Fulham in 2006 from Leyton Orient, but he has made just two appearances during his time at Craven Cottage.
