Former Crawley boss Mark Yates is being interviewed for the vacant managerial position at Notts County.

The 46-year-old, who was in the running to become the Forest Green manager, has been out of work since leaving League Two Town last month.

He is bidding to become Mark Cooper's replacement at Meadow Lane - the man who he lost out to for the Forest Green job - and will be vetted by the Magpies board this week.

Yates left Crawley at the end of April after a tough season in League Two and pushed Cooper close for the Forest Green job - they were the only two interviewed from over 100 applicants.
