Sunderland are close to completing a double signing with Aiden McGeady and James Vaughan both on Wearside today to finalise their moves, Sky sources understand.
Republic of Ireland winger McGeady is currently undergoing his medical after sorting out his contractual situation with Everton yesterday.
Meanwhile, Bury striker Vaughan is discussing personal terms in the North East after a fee in the region of £900,000 was accepted by the League One side.
The pair will be Simon Grayson's first permanent signings as manager following the loan arrivals of Brendan Galloway and Ty Browning from Everton.
