Betfred Cup final: Aberdeen v Celtic preview

Scott Sinclair puts Celtic on their way shortly after half-time

Scott Sinclair will be given every chance to prove his fitness before manager Brendan Rodgers names his Celtic team to face Aberdeen in Sunday's Betfred Cup final at Hampden Park.

Former Chelsea and Swansea winger Sinclair limped out of Celtic's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Barcelona with a hamstring problem following a tackle by Jordi Alba.

He will be constantly monitored by the Parkhead medical team and should he fail to make the starting line-up for the first domestic final of the season, on-loan Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts looks the ideal replacement.

Striker Leigh Griffiths has returned to the Hoops squad for the trip to the national stadium after recovering from the tight hamstring which kept him on the sidelines in midweek.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes can call on the services of fit-again Ash Taylor after the central defender proved his well-being in last weekend's victory over Inverness CT.
