Celtic defender Kieran Tierney was concerned his season may have been over following a reckless challenge from Motherwell forward Ryan Bowman.
The 19-year-old was caught by an above-knee studs-up lunge from Bowman during the second half of Celtic's 2-0 victory on Saturday.
Referee Don Robertson only produced a yellow card though, which surprised Tierney, who revealed Bowman apologised while the Hoops left-back was on the ground.
Tierney, who was out of action for three months earlier in the season with an ankle fracture and shoulder problem, was concerned he would be facing another lengthy absence.
"Straight away I thought something bad had happened. He caught me on the kneecap. It was a horrible challenge," Tierney said.
"It was sore. You kind of know sometimes when you have done something and I thought it was bad.
"He caught me high and my knee is all cut. I feared the worst but thankfully it was okay. I got lucky. Having just come back from injury the last thing I wanted was another one.
"The pitch has a bobble on it but there are no excuses. It was a bad tackle. He said sorry to me after it. I didn't say much back.
"I thought straight away it was a red card. If you look at my knee and the fact he caught me with his studs that high, then you'd think it would be.
"But that's not my decision. The knee should be fine hopefully. It is sore but other than that it's fine."
First half goals from Moussa Dembele and James Forrest stretched Celtic's unbeaten domestic run to 32 games, 31 of them under the charge of Brendan Rodgers, as the club closes in on a sixth successive league title.
