Hibernian manager John Collins has admitted he expects David Murphy to move away from Easter Road.
Murphy raised doubts over his future earlier this week by refusing to rule out a move back to England.
A number of clubs are thought to be tracking the highly-rated defender with Murphy impressing at Hibs since his arrival in the summer of 2004.
Collins accepts Murphy is likely to return to England at some point in the future, but he insists the full-back will be going nowhere in January

"He is a quality footballer and I am sure that there will come a time when we receive an offer that we can't refuse," Collins told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"We have got to be realistic. I could say that David Murphy is going nowhere, but we all know that is not the case. He will move on eventually, but it won't be in January.
"The lad comes from England and has always said that he would like to go back there eventually.
"We would love to give him everything that he wants, but it's just not possible because we are not in the English Premier League and that's where he wants to be playing his football at some time in the future."
