No Easter Road return for Riordan

Hibernian boss John Collins has ruled out a move for wantaway Celtic forward Derek Riordan. Riordan has been told he can leave Celtic in the January transfer window, as revealed by skysports.com. The Scottish international has been deemed surplus to requirements at Parkhead after failing to establish himself in Gordon Strachan's plans since arriving from Hibs in the summer of 2006. A number of clubs are weighing up a move for Riordan next month, but Collins says he will not be joining the queue for the 24-year-old. "I don't think Derek is the type of player we're looking for," Collins told the Daily Record.

Tough call

"I haven't actually seen him play 90 minutes so it is a tough call for me. "I know he did very well when he was here but one thing is for sure, he would be well outside our wage limit anyway. "We really need to strengthen other places, it is not a priority position for us now."
