Jones - We must move on

Hibs defender shocked by Collins decision

Rob Jones has urged his Hibernian team-mates to put the sudden departure of John Collins behind them and focus on Saturday's game with Celtic. The Hibs captain admits Collins' decision came as a shock to the Easter Road players, but feels that there is no time to dwell on the past with such an important game to prepare for. Collins who had grown frustrated at the lack of financial support available to him, had led the club to just one win in their last eight Scottish Premier League games, and Jones realises that it is imperative the players put this recent bad run out of their minds.

Surprise

"We've been back at training since the manager announced he was leaving and it went well. We are all looking forward to the Celtic game now," the defender said. "Of course it was disappointing that the gaffer left, and it came as a surprise for everyone, but we've moved on. It's happened now and we have to get on with it and go out there and enjoy ourselves. "We know we've not been playing well for a long time now and that shows in the results we've been getting.
Priority
"It will be an extremely difficult game against Celtic. They are at home and are playing in front of their massive crowd, which will make it tough for us. "But we have to go there and stick to our game plan and try and come away with a good result. "The mood is fine. We've got a lot of important games coming up and that has to take priority over everything else. "We'll go out there and perform to the best of our abilities for the team and for ourselves and hopefully put in a good display."
