Inverness have confirmed that Marius Niculae has completed a transfer to Dinamo Bucharest.
The 27-year-old striker revealed last week that he had agreed a deal to join the Romanian club.
Inverness later warned the player that they would recall him if the move was not finalised in the coming days, as the necessary paperwork had not been completed to their satisfaction.
However, the Scottish Premier League side have now announced that Niculae will be heading back to his homeland.
Speculation about Niculae's future has been rife for much of the summer, with Inverness receiving a number of offers.
Niculae was a member of Romania's Euro 2008 squad and featured in two group stage games.
