Motherwell's Jim O'Brien has thanked manager Mark McGhee for helping him to become a better player.

Motherwell midfielder Jim O'Brien has thanked manager Mark McGhee for helping him to become a better player.
The 21-year-old moved to Fir Park from Celtic last summer but initially struggled to make much of an impression.
He accepts that he needed some guidance from McGhee but feels he has flourished since taking the advice on board.
"I feel I've come on a lot over the past few months. The manager has helped me and I owe him a lot," O'Brien said in the Daily Record.
"He sat me down at the start of the season and told me if I continued what I was doing I was going nowhere.
"He identified what my strengths are, telling me what to do, when to do it and in what areas.
"I'm becoming a bigger part of the team whereas before I was coming on and not feeling a real part of things."
O'Brien believes McGhee was correct to give him some harsh criticism after he was told he needed to mature quickly as a player.
"He said I was playing like a 10-year-old and I know hat he meant by that," O'Brien recalled.
"I was doing things I shouldn't have been doing and it's all about me growing up. That's his opinion and he's the manager - so he's right."
