Pawlett and Crawford pen deals

Aberdeen have tied down starlets Peter Pawlett and Jonathan Crawford to new deals. Winger Pawlett has penned a three-year deal, while defender Crawford has extended his current contract by a further 12 months, Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood was delighted to have sealed the futures of both youngsters. "Both have been on the bench for the first team and we have high hopes for these lads," said Calderwood. "Pawlett showed his potential on our pre-season tour in Holland and would have been in my plans but he broke his arm. "He has been extremely unlucky with injuries and it has taken longer than expected to regain full fitness. "Crawford has been pressing his claims and there is every chance our fans will see their capabilities if they keep improving. "A lot of time, effort and money has been invested in our youth development programme and now the dividends are being reaped. "As a manager you take a great deal of satisfaction when a kid comes through the ranks and then holds down a first-team place on merit."
