Bhoys midfielder targets quick comeback

Barry Robson is hoping to return in time to assist Celtic in their bid for a fourth consecutive SPL title. Out of action since February with a groin injury, the Bhoys midfielder underwent surgery and has been in rehabilitation since. Having suffered a minor setback with a torn muscle, Robson now appears to be on the road to recovery after a frustrating spell. Targeting a return in the run-up to the end of the season, the 30-year-old hopes to be back in training within the next two weeks.

Setback

"I'm still trying to get fit at the moment," he told the club's official website. "I had a little setback a few weeks ago, when I tore a muscle. It meant three weeks of rest and some treatment, but hopefully I can start some light training within the next week or so. "After that, the aim is to get back for a few games before the end of the season. That's the way I'm thinking." Admitting to feeling frustrated at such a long absence, Robson said he was forced into surgery when his groin problem became too much to play through.
Tough
"It's been frustrating. I was carrying the injury for a few months and it got to the stage that I had to do something about it. "It's been hard over the last few months but I think the boys have done well. "We're still top of the league and challenging for the title, but I'd much rather be in there and involved with the boys." Reflecting on the solitary point separating Celtic and Rangers at the top of the table, he added: "The end of the season is the best bit. It's when the pressure is on and I enjoy that. "I'm hoping to be back for a couple of games. Whether that happens, I don't know. But I'm positive just now."
