Striker's ankle knock not as bad as first feared

Hibernain have revealed that the injury picked up Ivan Sproule on Sunday is not as serious as first feared. It appeared as though the winger could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he picked up a knock during a 3-2 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Sproule sustained an ankle injury towards the end of that contest and it was suggested that he may have suffered ligament damage. That is not the case, though, and Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has revealed that the 31-year-old could be back in training by the time his side face Motherwell on Sunday. He told the club's official website: "The good news is that Ivan's injury is not as bad as we first feared it might be. "He was obviously in a lot of pain when he came off the pitch, but fortunately the injury has responded to treatment and he could be back in training sooner rather than later."
