Kieran Tierney hopes to realise a dream by winning the Scottish Cup with Celtic this season.

The Hoops were paired with Stranraer in the fourth round of the William Hill-sponsored event and the 18-year-old defender is expecting a tricky tie against the League One side early in January.

"You don't know what to expect. It's an away tie and it's quite a distance so we need to go there prepared," he told Sky Sports News from the draw at Hampden Park.

"I've been to a few cup finals and we've won. So as a fan it's been great for me. Hopefully as a player it can be great for me too. You dream it can be you but you never think it's going to happen.

"It would be brilliant. It's the same as Parkhead, you are at Parkhead as a fan and you dream of playing there and Hampden is a great stadium and you dream of playing there as well."

Stranraer chairman Iain Dougan was delighted with the draw which will provide a big boost for the club's finances, as well as offering the opportunity for a major cup shock.

Although Celtic are overwhelming favourites, Dougan was happy to point out manager Brian Reid's pedigree in domestic cup competitions while he was in charge at Ayr United.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ he said: "We'll probably get enough for next year's budget, that will do anyway for a start.

"We have a couple of big Celtic fans in our squad and I'm sure they'll be buzzing. I spoke to the manager, he's got a good tradition in the cup. He's been to the Scottish Cup semi-final, I believe and quarter-final of the League Cup when he was manager of Ayr, so he's looking forward to it."

The visitors will take the positives from the draw as well having won at Stair Park in 2001 on their way to winning the domestic treble.

"Yes, they did indeed," Dougan said. "And the only previous trip to Parkhead was 1988, and Celtic went on to win the double that year.

"So, maybe Celtic will see that as an omen. If that's the case we hope it's maybe after a replay at Parkhead."

Meanwhile, Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale manager Raymond Carr is refusing to look any further than this weekend's replay against Huntly after being paired with the winners of the Stenhousemuir/East Kilbride tie in the fourth round.

"The draw has been made and we now know who we are going to meet so we have to concentrate on that," he told SSNHQ.

"Yes, everybody would like the big, glamorous tie and the rewards that go with that, but we'll take Huntly on Saturday and if we get through that then we will start thinking about it seriously."
