Celtic have signed teenage forward PJ Crossan from Dunfermline on a three-year deal and sent Paul McMullan to the Pars on loan.

The Scottish Premiership champions had been linked with the 17-year-old over the last week and he has now sealed a move to Celtic Park.

Crossan made his senior debut for Dunfermline last season, both of his appearances coming off the bench, but his contract expired at the end of the season.

The clubs have now agreed a compensation package for Crossan, while Celtic have sent forward McMullan to Dunfermline for the entire 2016-17 campaign.

Pars chairman Ross McArthur said: "I would like to wish PJ well in his future career at Celtic, which is naturally a fantastic opportunity for him.

"I would also like to thank Celtic for their assistance in this matter to ensure the matter could be resolved amicably.

"However, the only disappointing aspect is the wholly inaccurate reporting in recent days relating to the agreed compensation figure, which will remain confidential. This is at a time when our particular club continues to need the support of our wider community and fan base, and such misleading information is extremely unhelpful."
