Celtic's Scott Sinclair tells Sky Sports News HQ it is great to be working with manager Brendan Rodgers again

Celtic host Motherwell in the second round of the League Cup on Wednesday night with Scott Sinclair set for his home bow.

The new arrival from Aston Villa enjoyed a memorable debut when he stepped off the bench to score the winner at Tynecastle on Sunday and he could start in light of Leigh Griffiths' suspension.

Efe Ambrose and Stefan Johansen also sit out this one owing to sanctions carried over from last season when Celtic lost out to Ross County at the semi-final stage.

Brendan Rodgers may also look to freshen his line-up with games against Inter Milan and Hapoel Be'er Sheva looming in the next eight days, Kieran Tierney being one of those in line for a rest with a minor shoulder issue.

Patrick Roberts will play no part as he bids to shake off a hamstring problem but the club are hopeful he may yet feature against Be'er Sheva next week.

Motherwell, fresh from an opening 2-1 league win of their own at Kilmarnock, will hope to have Carl McHugh available after he had stitches in a head wound suffered at Rugby Park.

Keith Lasley is available having missed out at the weekend because of suspension; Loius Moult (groin) is out.
