Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has apologised after he was admonished in court for singing an offensive song about former Hearts player Rudi Skacel.

The former Hibernian forward was reprimanded by the judge during a brief appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday morning.

Griffiths was filmed joining in a song about Skacel in an Edinburgh pub along with a number of Hibernian supporters.

The incident happened in April 2014 before Griffiths attended a Hearts-Hibs derby match at Tynecastle.

In a statement issued by Celtic, Griffiths said: "I made a mistake, I wrongly became involved in this incident and did not fully consider my actions. I apologise unreservedly for this.
