Lyon's Sidney Govou is keeping his fingers crossed Stuttgart will beat Rangers in Tuesday's Champions League clash.

Winger believes Lyon can still qualify

Lyon winger Sidney Govou is keeping his fingers crossed Stuttgart will do them a favour and beat Rangers and keep their UEFA Champions League hopes alive. If Alain Perrin's side do not take all three points against Barcelona and the Glasgow side defeat Stuttgart in Group E's other match, the French giants will not be able to qualify for the last 16. Govou told L'Equipe: "We have six points to play for and we can make it. "When you look at the group positions you realise one thing; the most important result is that Rangers do not win at Stuttgart." Despite their poor form in the Champions League, Lyon have won seven of their last eight games in all competitions and are three points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

Confident

They still have to travel to Ibrox for their final group game and will be confident of securing the runners-up slot if the other results go their way. The 28-year-old added: "I believe we have the team to spring a few surprises and if we secure qualification for the knockout stages, we can achieve great things. "I have great faith but first we must qualify."
