Aberdeen striker Jayden Stockley hopes to get his chance against Maribor after bagging a brace against Arbroath at the weekend.
The 22-year-old Englishman was on the mark in the 4-1 friendly win at Gayfield as he pushed his case for a starting slot against the Slovenians at Pittodrie on Thursday.
He came off the bench to score in the 3-0 first leg win over Venetspils in the last round and was also a substitute in Latvia for the return.
The former Bournemouth striker told the Evening Express: "You want to be scoring when it matters, grabbing the really big goals.
"That's why it was such a thrill to score for the first time in Europe in the last round. It's what I'm here to do and what I thrive on.
"It was good to get a few more minutes under my belt, especially after coming off the bench in the last two games.
"Hitting the back of the net a couple of times won't do my confidence any harm either. Hopefully, it will help me be involved when we play Maribor on Thursday.
"That's the one we all want to be involved in. Playing in Europe has been a great new experience for me, hopefully, one that I can thrive on.
"It was nice to get clean sheets and win both legs in the previous round, that was a real confidence boost. We accept it's going to be even tougher in the next round.
"Maribor have a strong and experienced side, but we have talent in our squad, too. Hopefully, we can cause them a bit of damage.
"I know Aberdeen got to the third round twice before, we want to take things a step further this time."
Should the Dons progress against the Slovenian League runners-up they will face one more round before reaching the group stages.
