Logan appeared set to leave Aberdeen at the end of last season and the virtual ever-present right-back had been linked with a return south of the border to be closer to his family.

However, having made 149 appearances and scoring 12 goals, he has committed his immediate future to Derek McInnes' men.

"The reason I am staying is because of the way I have been treated by the club and the fans during the time I have been here. I have been looked after very well," Logan told the club's website.

"I am happy to be here, so the new deal was very welcome. I am glad the club and the manager have faith in me and that they want me to stick around."

Dons boss McInnes hopes Logan can remain a firm fans' favourite.
