Kilmarnock have appointed former West Brom boss Steve Clarke as their new manager on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Clarke has been out of a job for a year after leaving as the assistant manager at Aston Villa but now he will replace Lee McCulloch who left the Ayrshire club after registering three draws and five defeats.

Kilmarnock are currently bottom of the Premiership and they are hoping that Clarke will bring a fresh lease of life.

Clark said: "I'm delighted to be back in football and I'm especially delighted to be named Kilmarnock manager.

"In my discussions with the board we spoke about stability and while we need to fix the current situation, I'm looking to provide that stability to this great club.

Academy director and coach, Paul McDonald has been in charge in the interim and will manage the team in their match against Partick Thistle on Saturday.
