A James Keatings hat-trick secured a 4-1 victory for Hibernian over St Mirren to keep pace with leaders Rangers

James Keatings hit a hat-trick as Hibernian continued their recent impressive run of form in the Scottish Championship, coming from behind to beat St Mirren 4-1.

Hibs suffered an early setback when Sean Kelly gave Saints an eighth-minute lead at St Mirren Park following a short corner.

But the visitors levelled the match within two minutes as Jason Cummings, who has now scored in seven successive games, found the corner of the net with a low strike.

Keatings scored his first goal on 37 minutes when he drilled the ball into the far corner following a quickly-taken free-kick.

And Keatings was on target again just four minutes later as he completed a flowing move with a shot into the top corner.

He completed his hat-trick 12 minutes from time from the penalty spot after Liam Henderson was brought down by Cameron Howieson to extend Hibernian's unbeaten run to 13 matches in all competitions and stay five points behind leaders Rangers.

Falkirk came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Raith with goals from Blair Alston and John Baird.

The visitors opened the scoring on 39 minutes when Mark Stewart took advantage of a defensive lapse to calmly finish.

But Raith were unable to keep their lead through to half-time, and Bob McHugh teed up Alston (42) to level the match.

Baird struck the winner on the hour when he raced through the Raith defence and scored with a curling shot.

An early Denny Johnstone goal proved decisive as Morton beat Livingston 1-0 at Cappielow Park.

Johnstone sent 'keeper Marc McCallum the wrong way with his sixth-minute penalty after Livi defender Conor Pepper was brought down by Jackson Longridge.

In the other Championship game, Queen of South beat Dumbarton 1-0 with a goal from Paul Heffernan on 52 minutes.
