Brendan Rodgers' Celtic squad dominate the nominations for the Scottish PFA player and young player of the year awards, with three-quarters of the shortlist coming from the Premiership champions' stable.

The four nominees for the player of the year are Stuart Armstrong, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair with Aberdeen's Jonny Hayes the other nominee.

Hibernian's Jason Cummings breaks the Hoops hegemony in the young player category with last year's winner Kieran Tierney, Patrick Roberts and Dembele the others in contention.

Celtic have carried all before them on the domestic front with five matches, including a Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen, standing between them and an unbeaten domestic campaign, an unprecedented feat in the modern era in Scotland.

Sinclair was this week voted Celtic's player of the year at their own award ceremony after reviving his career in Glasgow following four unproductive years at Manchester City and Aston Villa.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "I can't describe how much more in love with the game I am.

"The past couple of years has been tough - being at City and not playing as much as I'd have liked, then obviously I went to Villa and got relegated. There were tough times as my career came to a crossroads.

"I've come up here not looked back. I couldn't have come to a better club and I'm picking up trophies along the way."

The increasingly influential Armstrong and the free-scoring Dembele, with 32 goals to his name, will have their own backers for the national award.

Hayes' wing play has been key to an Aberdeen side seemingly destined to finish runners-up for the third successive season, while the effervescent Cummings was Hibs' top scorer as they secured promotion back to the top flight.

The winners will be announced at the PFA Scotland Annual Awards dinner at the Glasgow Hilton on Sunday, May 7.
