Inverness manager John Hughes has been handed a touchline ban for claiming referee Andrew Dallas was not ready for the top flight.

Hughes will sit in the stand during Saturday's Ladbrokes Premiership game at Motherwell after being given an immediate one-match suspension for criticising referee Dallas during interviews with the written press.

Following his side's 1-1 draw at Dundee on August 29, Hughes said: "What I will say is that I don't think the referee is ready for the top flight. He might be one day but not on this evidence.

"I thought he brought a nervousness to the game which didn't help. There were a lot of fouls and it was stop-start."

Hughes admitted criticising 32-year-old FIFA list referee Dallas during interviews with the written press but an identical charge over a television interview was not proven.
