Partick Thistle moved into the top six in the Scottish Premiership with a 2-0 victory over Dundee at Firhill on Wednesday night.
The Jags found themselves bottom of the league recently but followed up their fine win at Ross County before Christmas with another impressive showing against Paul Hartley's side.
First-half goals from Callum Booth and Kris Doolan earned Thistle their first victory at home in nine matches and ended Dundee's seven-match unbeaten run in Maryhill.
Booth opened the scoring after 16 minutes with a curling free-kick after Doolan had been fouled on the edge of the box, setting the hosts on their way to back-to-back wins and a first clean sheet in 10 games in the process.
It was 2-0 shortly before half-time when Chris Erskine's effort was saved by Scott Bain, but Doolan followed up to round the goalkeeper and tap the ball into the net.
Inverness made it nine games without a win as they lost 2-1 to Motherwell at the Caledonian Stadium.
It means Richie Foran's side head into Saturday's crunch derby with Ross County at the bottom of the pile in the Premiership and have now not won since their 3-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park in October.
The visitors had the best of the first-half opportunities, with Scott McDonald dragging an effort wide before Lionel Ainsworth, on as an early replacement for the injured Chris Cadden, angled a shot across the face of Owain Fon Williams' goal.
Craig Clay broke the deadlock five minutes after the interval as his speculative shot from 30 yards, which appeared to be heading over, swirled in the wind and deceived Fon Williams to drop into the top corner.
McDonald then made it 2-0 to Motherwell three minutes before full-time after finishing well from Louis Moult's cross.
Greg Tansey got one back for his side in the 90th minute but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
