French Ligue 1 side Nice will pay tribute to the 85 victims of the Bastille Day attacks by wearing a commemorative shirt on Sunday.

Nice, who traditionally play in red and black, will wear a special white shirt with the logo of a heart made up of the names of those who died on July 14, replacing the usual sponsorship logo.

The kit will be worn once, for their league opener against Rennes at the Allianz Riviera.

"An individual tribute will be paid to each of the 85 victims," Nice said in a statement. "Nothing will ever be the same, but we need to get back on our feet."

Before the match, the names of the victims will be read out while young players from the club will release white balloons.

All fans attending the game have been asked to wear white, while all players and match officials will wear a white T-shirt during the warm-up.

In the 85th minute, a tribute to those killed when a truck was driven into crowds celebrating Bastille Day in the city will be flashed on the main screen and will be repeated at every Nice home game this season.

After the match, the shirts will be auctioned to raise funds for the victims and selected charities.
