Blanc opts for Lyon forward after injury crisis
France manager Laurent Blanc has called up Lyon striker Jimmy Briand for the clash with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Les Bleus lost their opening Euro 2012 qualifier against Belarus 1-0 at home on Friday night, and now face a tough trip to Bosnia as they try and get their campaign up and running.
It was a night to forget against Belarus as Loic Remy, Louis Saha and Guillaume Hoarau all suffered injuries.
Remy hurt his groin while Saha limped off with a calf strain after coming on as a substitute and Hoarau injured his right shoulder.
Briand, 25, did not make the squad for France's World Cup debacle but now has a chance to prove a point to manager Blanc.
Bosnia-Herzegovina currently top Group D after winning 3-0 away to Luxembourg on Friday.
