Paris Saint-Germain moved 10 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after Neymar's fine individual strike helped set up a 2-0 home win over Troyes.

Both Lyon, who lost at relegation-battlers Lille, and Monaco, beaten away by Nantes, had failed to make up any ground in Wednesday's earlier kick-offs, while Marseille went into second place following a 3-0 win at Metz.

It also looked set to be a frustrating night for Unai Emery's men as Troyes, who saw a goal ruled out for offside, produced an organised display at Parc des Princes before Edinson Cavani had his penalty saved.

Neymar, though, continued to live up to his world-record transfer fee when the Brazil forward lashed in a low, angled effort from just outside the box to finally break the deadlock on 73 minutes, before Cavani added a late second to make it seven straight wins in all competitions.

Earlier, Lyon went down 2-1 at home against against Lille, who climb out of the bottom three. Monaco, meanwhile, were beaten 1-0 at Nantes by a goal deep into stoppage time from Brazilian defender Lima. Marseille, though, comfortably saw off Metz.

It finished goalless between Guingamp and Montpellier, who move to seventh.
