PSG and Montpellier suffer stumbles as Lyon leave it late

The top two both dropped points on Saturday, but Paris St Germain were able to extend their lead at the summit to two points. Elsewhere, there were wins for Evian, Lorient and Dijon and stalemate in Bordeaux. Paris St Germain snatched a dramatic point on the road at Caen, with a stoppage-time leveller earning them a 2-2 draw. Pierre-Alain Frau saw his 54th-minute opener cancelled out by Javier Pastore, but Thomas Heurtaux's 71st-minute effort suggested an upset could be on the cards. Christophe Jallet was to have the final word, though, as he stepped off the bench to grab a last-gasp equaliser. Montpellier remain in second spot, but endured a night to forget as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Nancy. Andre Luiz kept his cool from the penalty spot after 63 minutes to seal an impressive success for the hosts. Montpellier's misery was compounded as they ended the game with nine men, with Hilton and Benjamin Stambouli given their marching orders. Lyon closed to within a point of the top three with a 1-0 victory over St Etienne. They left it late to snatch maximum points, but a solitary strike from substitute Bafetimbi Gomis nine minutes from time saw them over the line.

Slipped

Marseille slipped further adrift of the UEFA Champions League places after going down 2-1 at home to Dijon. Loic Remy handed Didier Deschamps side an 11th-minute lead from the penalty spot, but Younousse Sankhare (24) and Gael Kakuta (pen 79) turned the tie on its head. Evian moved into the top-half of the table with a 2-0 win on the road at Auxerre. They scored early through Thomas Kahlenberg (8) and wrapped up the points late on as Kevin Berigaud pounced in injury-time. Lorient are four points clear of the drop zone after seeing off Brest 2-1. They trailed for long periods to Eden Ben Basat's 11th-minute breakthrough, but hit back courtesy of Bruno Ecuele Manga (72) and Kevin Monnet-Paquet (87) to claim a welcome win. Bordeaux and Ajaccio played out a 1-1 draw at Stade Chaban Delmas, with Yoann Poulard's late leveller cancelling out Cheick Diabate's 70th-minute opener.
