Monaco recovered from being a goal down to beat Toulouse 3-1 and put a three point gap between themselves and Paris Saint-Germain at the top of Ligue 1.

Having failed to convert domination into goals in the first half, Leonardo Jardim's table-toppers found themselves behind seconds after the break when Ola Toivonen punished a Jemerson mistake.

But the hosts soon levelled through Kamil Glik's header, and strikes from Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar then steered them to victory.

The gap between Monaco and PSG is extended to three points with both sides now having played 34 games. The capital club are in action on Sunday when they visit third-placed Nice.

Jardim's side survived an early scare when Andy Delort headed just wide of their goal, but they were on the offensive thereafter, with Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont producing saves to deny Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva before Mbappe was thwarted by Issa Diop while shooting.

They went 1-0 down in the first minute of the second half when Jemerson made a mess of trying to clear a Toulouse cross and the loose ball was sent in off Danijel Subasic by Toivonen.

But they made a swift reply as Glik nodded in the equaliser three minutes later from Joao Moutinho's ball into the box.

Mbappe then drilled in a low strike in the 64th minute, and Lemar added his side's third with 15 minutes to go, side-footing in from close-range. Radamel Falcao almost made it 4-1 as his shot came back off a post.

Rock-bottom Bastia's survival hopes were boosted as they won their relocated 'home' clash with Rennes 1-0 at Stade Parsemain in Fos-sur-Mer.

Enzo Crivelli notched the winner in the 68th minute, lashing in after Allan Saint-Maximin's cross was touched to him by Axel Ngando.

The French Football League had ruled the contest would be played at a neutral ground, behind closed doors, with Bastia's Stade Armand-Cesari home closed while recent instances of crowd trouble were investigated.

Bastia are now two points behind 17th-placed Caen.

Second-bottom Nancy - level on points with 18th-placed Dijon, one better off than Bastia - lost 2-1 at a Metz outfit now seven points clear of the bottom three.

Opa Nguette's second-half strike settled the match after Faitout Maouassa had cancelled out Ismaila Sarr's opener for the hosts.

Lorient remain two points above the relegation places in 16th after being condemned to a 1-0 defeat at Nantes by Emiliano Sala's 89th-minute header.

Elsewhere, a Vincent Pajot header and Romain Hamouma penalty secured a 2-0 win for St Etienne at Guingamp.

And Lille ran out 3-0 winners at Montpellier, Nicolas de Preville making it 1-0 from the spot early on and Xeka and Martin Terrier adding goals in the second half.
