Barcelona face another huge test of their character as they look to keep their La Liga title hopes alive when Real Sociedad visit on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.

Luis Enrique's men have left themselves with another mammoth task to progress in the Champions League after losing 3-0 at Juventus, while they missed the chance to go top of the table with last Saturday's 2-0 loss at Malaga.

With Real Madrid facing lowly Sporting Gijon in the 3.15pm kick-off, anything but victory will leave Luis Enrique's men really up against it with just six games remaining. Here's a look at this weekend's action…

Barcelona v Real Sociedad (Saturday, live on Sky Sports 3 HD from 7.30pm)

Real Sociedad has been an unhappy hunting ground for Barca, with the reverse fixture representing a seventh successive season without leaving the Anoeta with three points.

However, back at the Nou Camp it is a very different story, with Barca winning their last 16 encounters in all competitions at Catalonia, putting five goals past them in four of the last nine.

Home solace is a common theme for Luis Enrique's men, with eight straight triumphs recorded in La Liga along with the famous 6-1 thumping of PSG.

They beat Sociedad 5-2 here in the Copa del Rey and the visitors arrive in unconvincing form, having ended a four-match winless run - in which they scored just once - by beating lowly Sporting Gijon 3-1.

Whether all this equates to a Barca backlash depends on which Enrique side turns up, although unconvincing displays against Leganes and Deportivo following both legs against PSG suggests we're unlikely to see the hosts at their best.

Earlier in the day, Real Madrid will visit third-from-bottom Sporting Gijon, knowing they can heap further pressure on Barca by doubling their three-point lead.

They're short-priced favourites to do so with their third-from-bottom hosts' survival hopes dwindling after back-to-back losses has left them five points from safety.

Like their neighbours, Atletico Madrid will be weighing up rotating as they host rock-bottom Osasuna at 5.30pm, with their domestic cause even less, sitting 10 points off the top and eight clear of fifth.

They won the reverse fixture 3-0 and Diego Simeone will surely consider resting his star players as the prepare to defend a narrow lead in Leicester on Wednesday night.

In Saturday's early kick-off, Deportivo have the chance to pull clear of the drop-zone when they host a Malaga side full of confidence after beating Barcelona, live on Sky Sports Mix HD from 12pm.

Leganes can also boost their survival chances when they host Espanyol in Sunday's early kick-off, which is followed by Sevilla's trip to the Mestalla to take on Valencia in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.

Then at 5.30pm high-flying Eibar look to make it four straight wins when they visit Real Betis, before Tony Adams begins his quest to lead Granada to unlikely safety when Celta Vigo visit, all live on Sky Sports.
