Sevilla boss calls on his side to finish the job after victory

Sevilla coach Juande Ramos has told his side that they must 'keep working' following their 2-1 UEFA Champions League win at home to Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday night.

Early goals from Frederic Kanoute and Luis Fabiano put Sevilla in control of the game, but a 63rd-minute goal from Ovidiu Petre gave Steaua the chance to steal a draw.

The Spanish side managed to hold on for the victory, however, and now look well placed to qualify for the knockout stages.

Ramos was happy with the evening's events, but does not want to see his side become complacent.

"We played a magnificent first half," he said. "We played a lot down the wings - that was what we wanted.

"Now we have to win in Bucharest to practically secure our qualification. Wins are always welcome, but we have to keep working."

Fabiano hails spirit

Fabiano was pleased with the way Sevilla handled the late pressure from the visitors.

"We played a great game," he said. "In the second half, they tried everything, changing their game plan.

"We suffered trying to close down the spaces, but we battled and claimed the win. It was important to win at home."

Sevilla are now second in Group H with six points, three behind Arsenal and three ahead of Slavia Prague, while Steaua are yet to claim a point.
