Germans target Lazio star

Bayern Munich have emerged as favourites to land Lazio star Goran Pandev, although Liverpool and Valencia remain firmly in the hunt. The 24-year-old has confirmed that Bayern are indeed looking to sign him and the Macedonian looks to be keen on the idea. "My managers and the two clubs will meet for final talks, that is when everything will be known and whether I will be heading to Munich," Pandev revealed.

Interest

"There has been also interest from Liverpool and Valencia as I have been told, but Bayern has the most serious approach and by now had several meetings with me, my managers and my club." Pandev has become a firm fans favourite at the Stadio Olimpico since joining them in 2004 and has bagged 32 league goals in 82 starts. Recent reports from Italy suggest Lazio will keep Pandev until the summer - when he will then depart Rome, with Munich looking his most likely destination at the moment. Meanwhile, Bayern have also been linked with a move for Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. The 22-year-old is currently with America and is already believed to have been scouted by Arsenal and Manchester United. "It make me very proud that important teams are interested in me but for the moment nobody has said anything official to me," he said. "I know that the press is talking about teams from England and Germany and if something is real it will be a big step forward in my career."
