Argentine youngster brought in to replace Albelda

Argentinean midfielder Ever Banega is all set to complete a switch from Boca Juniors to Valencia after penning a four-year deal. Banega has only made 42 league appearances for Boca, but he did help them win the Copa Libertadores in 2007 and was part of the successful Argentine U20 side which claimed World Cup glory last year. There is still some documentation left to be signed before the deal can be officially completed but the midfielder has already travllled to Spain to join up with his new team-mates. Speaking to Radio La Red Boca vice president Jose Beraldi confirmed the players exit: "We still have to wait a few days because there are some papers left to be signed but Boca will receive 20million Dollars (around £10million) for this transfer. "The arrangement has been done between both clubs without any agent in the middle."

Legal action

Banega has been brought to the Mestalla as a direct replacement for the out-of-favour David Albelda. The Spanish international midfielder was told last month by coach Ronald Koeman that he no longer had a future at the club and is currently taking legal action against them to have his contract terminated.
