Argentine midfielder heads home

Real Zaragoza have allowed Andres D'Alessandro to return to Argentina to join San Lorenzo. D'Alessandro had started just four games in the Primera Liga this season and had been linked with another stint in England. The midfielder spent the second half of the 2005/06 campaign on loan at Portsmouth and was a key figure in the club staving off the threat of relegation. But he has now headed back to Argentina after Zaragoza sold 50 per cent of his economic rights to San Lorenzo for a reported sum of 3.5million euros (£2.6million). Zaragoza do have the option of recalling D'Alessandro in the summer or in 12 months' time, in addition to being entitled to half of any future transfer fee.
