Deportivo La Coruna central defender Pablo Amo will be out for at least three months after requiring surgery.
The 30-year-old suffered a blow on his Achilles tendon during training last week and needed surgery after damaging a muscle.
The operation was a success and Amo, who has yet to feature for the side this term, must now totally rest for three weeks.
The long-term objective is to hopefully have him fit for the second part of the season.
