Valencia stopper leaves club after fall-out with coach

Valencia goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand has left the club by mutual consent after just one full season in Spain. Hildebrand was under contract at the Spanish club until 2010 but reportedly fell out with coach Unai Emery after the German lost his place to Brazilian signing Renan Brito. The German shot-stopper joined Valencia in July 2007 on a free transfer from Stuttgart. Hildebrand became first choice under former Valencia coach Ronald Koeman after the Dutchman axed Spanish international Santiago Canizares. Despite the popularity of Canizares, Hildebrand established himself with the Valencia fans after helping the club avoid relegation and win the Copa del Rey last April. The club's official website said: "Valencia wishes Hildebrand the best of luck in his future professional career." Hildebrand is most likely to head back to his homeland in search of a new club with surprise league leaders Hoffenheim and Cologne said to be interested.
