Sevilla midfielder going from strength to strength

Sevilla midfielder Koffi Romaric has spoken of his delight at scoring his first goal for the club in the 4-3 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Romaric signed for the Andalusians in the summer from Le Mans for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of €8million. The 25-year-old has played 14 times for Sevilla in the league this season and was instrumental in the club's thrilling away win at Real. The Ivorian scored to put his side 2-1 up with a well placed header from a Renato cross and the former Le Mans player is pleased with how he has settled in Spain. He told skysports.com: "I am very happy with my form at the moment, we are all getting back to our form. "We lost last week against Barca, so it was important to take maximum points against Real in Madrid.

"The game was the best game I have ever played, that is what I left Le Mans for, to play in the biggest league with the best players in the world. "I am happy to score my first La Liga goal." Sevilla lie in fourth place a point ahead of Real and eight behind runaway leaders Barcelona. Romaric is hopeful his impressive club form can lead to recognition with the Ivory Coast national team. The midfielder has nine caps for his country but has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. "I am always available for my country, it is a dream to play for your country, unfortunately you need to be called by the national manager," the 25-year-old added. "If he calls me I will be there but if he does not I am here in Seville. He knows my qualities and I am available for a call-up. "The World Cup is important to me. To be a very good player you need to prove it in the World Cup."
