Striker could make Spanish switch as contract nears end

Primera Liga outfit Malaga are reportedly interested in bringing Lomana LuaLua to Estadio La Rosaleda. The former Newcastle and Portsmouth striker has been with Qatar outfit Al Arabi for the past year but may be tempted by a move back into European football. Malaga boss Jose Ramon Muniz is in the market for a new striker and having been priced out of a move for El Zamalek forward Amr Zaki, he is thought to be setting his sights on 28-year-old LuaLua. The Democratic Republic of Congo international signed a one-year deal with Al Arabi in July 2008 and scored in their Sheikh Jassem Cup final win in October. The agile forward is now expected to analyse his options before deciding his next move and reports from Malaga suggest the Spanish club have been in contact with the player's agent.
