Czech defender pens two-year deal with Galatasaray

Turkish giants Galatasaray have snapped up Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi from Atletico Madrid. The 33-year-old's agent has revealed that his client has penned a two-year contract with the Istanbul-based outfit. A deal was completed on Monday after Ujfalusi underwent a medical and agreed personal terms. "The transfer was finalised today by the signing of the contract," agent Dalibor Lacina told CTK. The agreement between Ujfalusi and Galatasaray contains the option for a 12-month extension, Lacina added. The experienced defender moves to the Super Lig following a three-year stint in Spain with Atletico. He has previously turned out for Sigma Olomouc, Hamburg and Fiorentina and won 78 caps for the Czech Republic between 2001 and 2009.
