Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane says he welcomes Cristiano Ronaldo's public displays of disgruntlement at being substituted.
The three-time Ballon d'Or winner was unhappy after he was hooked during Real's 2-2 draw away to Las Palmas, venting his frustration with a tirade aimed for his boss.
Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claimed it was one of the first times in Ronaldo's seven-year spell at Madrid that he had been substituted due to tactical reasons.
"It's good he gets annoyed when I substitute him," Zidane told French radio station RMC.
"You can see it a bit more than with others when he's not happy, but that's not serious. I explain things to him afterwards, and it's over.
"He scores in the next game, we give each other a high five, and there you go!
"It proves the guy is committed when he doesn't want to come off, that he always wants to give something to the team, and that's good."
Ronaldo has been eased back into the first-team fold at the Bernabeu following his exploits at Euro 2016, where a knee injury ruled him out of the majority of Portugal's final victory over France.
The Portugal captain has made just six appearances for Los Blancos this season, but Zidane, who won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with France, favours easing players back into action after a hectic summer.
"The idea that I put to the president and the players was that they take their time after the Euros," he added
"From experience, I know that you have to take a break after an international competition, whatever happens, whether you win or lose.
"After 1998, I couldn't put one foot in front of the other for six months.
"I have that experience, and speaking with the players, they told me they needed a breather, so we made that decision [to allow them to miss preseason]."
