Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from Getafe on a three-year contract.

The 31-year-old Spaniard will join on a free transfer on July 1 after his contract with the La Liga club expires and will become manager Roy Hodgson's first new signing of the summer.

Guaita began his career at Valencia and made over 100 appearances for them, also going out on loan to Recreativo while on their books.

He moved to Getafe in 2014 and kept 12 clean sheets last season to help them finish eighth in their first campaign back in the Spanish top division.

Palace chairman Steve Parish said on the club's official website: "We are delighted to sign one of La Liga's best goalkeepers and pleased that we beat off the competition for his signature.

"We very much look forward to Vicente joining in pre-season training and helping us push on in the Premier League."
