Inter Milan remain in top spot in Serie A after holding Juventus to a goalless draw in Turin on Saturday.

Victory for Juve would have seen the defending champions usurp their Derby d'Italia rivals but they could not find a breakthrough despite dominating the game.

At times, it seemed like a contest between Mario Mandzukic and Inter keeper Samir Handanovic, with Juve having 19 shots to just six from the visitors, only one of which was on target.

Mandzukic did beat Handanovic just before half-time but his header came back of the crossbar. The result preserved Inter's two-point advantage over Juve and their unbeaten record.

Sampdoria missed the chance to put pressure on the top five as they let slip a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Cagliari.

The visitors were two up inside 20 minutes thanks to a brace from Fabio Quagliarella.

Sampdoria had chances to extend their lead before half-time but could not take them and two goals in five minutes from Cagliari after the break pulled them level.
